Our latest summer favourite: warm naan bread with a fresh dip and salad!
Best enjoyed warm straight away! But the loaves still taste great the next day if you store them in a Tupperware container, for example.
Good yeast dough needs to be left to rise = allow time for preparation
Walking time: 60 + 30 min
Baking time in the pan: 2-3 min per loaf
Ingredients for 4-6 portions
- 1/2 sachet dry yeast
- 250 ml lukewarm water
- 450 g flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp plant-based drink (e.g. soya drink, rice drink, etc.)
Preparation
Once the yeast has started to rise, pour it into the hollow with the vegetable drink and gradually mix in the flour. Then knead with your hands until you have a soft, light dough.
Cover the dough with a damp kitchen towel and leave to rise for 1 hour, protected from draughts, until it has doubled in volume. Then divide the dough into golf ball-sized pieces and leave to rest for a further 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough balls thinly and fry in a well-coated pan on a high heat for 2 - 3 minutes without oil or fat on both sides until bubbles form and the patties are lightly browned.
Enjoy your meal!
