Time and time again, we are delighted when the cake comes out of the oven and tastes soooo delicious with all its plant-based ingredients:

Cake is also possible without animals!

And the best thing is that it's not even complicated or time-consuming. And you don't need any exotic ingredients either.

It's simply a cake. Just delicious. And without animal suffering. And yet full of flavour. And full of flavour.

So, here we go! 🙂

Preparation time: approx. 30 min

Baking time: approx. 45 min

Ingredients for a 24 springform tin

  • 150 g Alsan (vegetable butter)
  • Pulp of a vanilla pod
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 250 g spelt flour type 630
  • 50 g ground nuts
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 200 ml plant-based milk
  • 4 large pears

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 170 °C fan oven.

Beat the butter, vanilla, salt and sugar in a large bowl with a hand mixer until fluffy.

Mix the flour, nuts and baking powder and stir this mixture into the butter mixture alternately with the milk to form a smooth batter.

Pour the dough into a springform tin lined with baking paper or floured.

Cut the pears into wedges and place on the pastry.

Bake the cake in the oven for about 45 minutes at 170 °C fan oven (190 °C top and bottom heat).

Tip: The cake also tastes great with other fruit. I can also imagine it with sprinkles...

Enjoy the cake warm or cold 🙂
